Faculty Member, Philosophy
About
Currently I work on theories of global justice, theories of territory and borders, and the space between these two topics. My book 'Global Justice and Territory' is forthcoming with Oxford University Press. (Draft chapters of the book are available to read in the 'Papers' section.)
My research seeks to understand the concept and practice of borders from the perspective of liberal political philosophy.
I also work on related issues such as legitimate political authority, immigration theory, global moral responsibility, the role of moral arbitrariness in political theory, and property rights.
With Chris Bertram (Bristol), I have established an international research network, 'Territory and Justice', funded by AHRC and IRCHSS.
