About

Fiona Shanahan is a doctoral candidate examining the use of cultural resources in post-conflict social integration in Northern Uganda. Her current research uses ethnographic participatory methodologies to explore how young women who were internally displaced and/or formerly associated with the Lord's Resistance Army use cultural resources and justice processes in mediating their own social participation, and that of their children born during armed conflict.
