About
Michael is an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Medicine (Class of 2012) at University College Cork. He graduated from McMaster University's Co-op program in 2008 to receive a B.H.Sc. from the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. Experience with the Wilson group at the Ontario Cancer Center; the Lung Screening Study at Princess Margaret Hospital; the Hampson group of the Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Toronto; and with the Lichty group within the Department of Health Sciences at McMaster University has directed him to the medical profession, with aspirations to contribute to the development of novel cancer therapeutics. Specifically, he holds great interest in becoming involved in the clinical work surrounding oncolytic viruses. His current efforts are associated with Professor Gerald O'Sullivan at the Cork Cancer Research Centre as he completes his medical degree.
